Join Trail Mix, SheJumps, and the Girl Scouts of Juneau for our last volunteer event of the season! Come celebrate National Public Lands Day on the Outer Point trail by hardening the trail’s tread, adding gravel, and building drainage.
Join us from 9 AM to 12 PM to make a big impact on one of Juneau’s favorite trails. No trail experience is necessary and Trail Mix provides all the necessary tools, training, and safety gear. Just wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, rain gear, and sturdy shoes. We’ll see you on the trail!
A message from Cami, one of our Trail Stewards this season:
“Hello, my name is Cami and I am a Girl Scout with Troop 102. I am currently working towards earning The Girl Scout Bronze Award which is the highest award that a Girl Scout Junior can earn. The project I have chosen and have been working on is the Otter Point trail work with Trail Mix. As trails help us get out and explore nature and promote conservation in The National Forest. With the help of my Troop and community we would like to complete this project with inviting the Juneau community to come out and help finish the Otter Point trail restoration on Saturday September 24th and teach the community about the No Trace Left Behind Principles. Hope to see you there!”
Do you want to level up your love for Juneau’s trails? Join the Trail Stewards program! The Juneau Trail Stewards program is a way for organizations and individuals to dive into trail work and spend the summer improving one trail. Trail Stewards complete one workday a month throughout the trail season. If you’d like more information about this program, click here.
We facilitate many service days with youth groups, church groups, large businesses, and any one else that can bring together up to fifteen willing hands that want to work on the trails.
