Volunteer Days

Trail Mix hosts several volunteer days throughout out the summer. These typically start at the trail head at 9:00am and go until 12:00pm. Typical tasks include hauling gravel with wheelbarrows, or buckets and spreading it with shovels and rakes, brushing, re-vegetation and trash pick up. There is always something for everyone of all ability levels. Please be prepared to walk up to a mile over sometimes rough trail conditions. Bring water, snacks, gloves, and layers for working outside in Southeast Alaska. No dogs please. Check back for updates about the schedules days for the current season. This season (2017) for the first time we are using a volunteer trail crew to construct small bridges and repair trail tread on the Treadwell Ditch in cooperation with the USFS. Service Days

In addition to our normally scheduled volunteer days, we often facilitate service days with youth groups, church groups, large businesses, and any one else that can bring together at least fifteen willing hands that want to work on the trails.
